Socks

Socks, the White House cat during the Clinton administration who waged war on Buddy the pup, has died. He was around 18. Socks had lived with Bill Clinton's secretary, Betty Currie, in Hollywood, Md., since the Clintons left the White House in early 2001.

Currie confirmed Socks' death Friday evening and said she was "heartbroken." She did not give details, referring calls to the Clinton Foundation office.

I think we should look into whether or not it was from natural causes. If there is one thing that Republicans taught me in the 90s, it was that any death related to the Clintons was likely a murder and coverup.

On a more serious note, I have always loved that photo they used in the article.

News doesn't belong in OT. Besides, if you want this to have a political aspect to it, perhaps you remember the Clinton family letting socks live with someone else late in the Clinton years. This was used by the R's as a smear to say that Hillary was a heartless so and so by getting rid of Socks. Phooey!

Everybody loved Socks though. Sad to hear this...

I'd never heard about it before this. Why DID they let the cat live somewhere else? Most animal people I know only let their pets go when they're in the most dire of circumstances. No slur on Hillary; it was Bill's cat too, I presume.
