Death by Nuke painful?
I am wounding how bad it would be to die by a nuke. Would not the body go into shock and not feel any pain? I know if you live downwind of the place that got Nuked, it would suck because of poisoning. But if you are directly in the path how bad would it be. I know no one knows just fun to think about?

Dependent on your proximity to ground zero. If you're close enough you just get vaporized.

Yeah, depends completely where you are. If you are clsoe enough your are dead before you even know whats happened. A little farther then the blast wave will tear you to shreds likely feal no pain as your brain will have been turned to jelly by the blast wave. A little farther away its the luck of the draw, probably get impaled or tramatic injuries, but chance for survival. Even farther you will only get radiation and heat burns. Then you will slowly die of radiation sickness which is VERY painfull. Farther still and there are eleveated cancer risks etc which may strike years later. So pretty much runs the gammit, but if you have to die hope it lands right on top of you. Better that then to have your eyes melted out of your skull, you hair catch fire, and you skin slowly peel off in the commin days as your insides decay away due to massive cell seath from radiation...

We already have have more than enough evidence---in Hiroshima and Nagasaki---and some more from Chernoble---those that die quick are often the lucky ones.

And now we have various bombs designed to kill people and mimimize damage to things like buildings---ain't progress grand?

Its only a matter of time before some mad man gets a hold of and uses a nuke--or nukes--feeling rightiously justified all the way.

As for GWB---I would not trust him with a BB gun or a sling shot.

There is an excellent documentary about this subject that just made its rounds in theatres and is now out on DVD for your immediate rental. It chronicles a bunch of sturdy midwesterners who get a bit too close to bomb testing sites in the desert. It's called the Hills Have Eyes and I recommend it for you and anyone else who wants a fun and educational family fun night.

Don't worry, you won't feel a thing. One second you'll be sitting there playing scrabble and the next it will be all rainbows and flowers and harps

As long as it ends in death, it doesn't matter to me. You'll disagree with me and you might even not believe me, but I'd rather live in pain, but if my number is up, my number is up I guess.
