it is their choice, some states give the inmate the choice of how they are to be executed

this is what they did , so i don't see a problem

xIn 1992, Arguelles abducted and strangled Margo Bond, a janitor at a junior high school where he had been hunting for teenage victims. He also kidnapped, sexually assaulted and killed two girls, ages 13 and 15, and stabbed a 16-year-old girl more than 40 times. He was sentenced to death in 1997. Arguelles has repeatedly said he wants to die.

Kell was convicted in 1996 of killing a black man, Lonnie Blackmon, at the Utah State Prison. Kell, serving time for a previous murder, stabbed Blackmon 67 times with a homemade knife in 1994. A prison videotape shows Kell shouting, "White power!" during the attack.

I think they should shoot them S.O.B.s right after their trial, Screw the appeals which cost us taxpayers millions and millions of dollars/year .

Letting those A-holes typically rot on death row for 10-15 years is ridiculus,

Of course they still do firing squad... they even do hangings still. In some states, it's up to the inmate which way they want to go.

I would prefer firing squad as well.

If I had to die, it had better be painless. Getting shot in the heart by a high-powered rifle will hurt. Immensely.

No it won't... it'll be instantaneous... and it's not one rifle. There are a line up of men, probably like 6 or 7... each of them has a real bullet, while one random person gets a blank (that's to ease the conscience of those who are firing). Getting shot by 5-6 bullets in the hair at the same time is going to be pretty damn painless.

I read that too. Quite pathetic that it actually makes a difference to those people there. The intent is very evident when you pull the trigger and if you can tell yourself at night that there is a 1/6 chance you didn't kill the guy maybe you're in the wrong line of work.

It will hurt. The guy will bleed to death but first pass out from the shock and lack of oxygen. He certainly will feel it. Getting shot in the head is a little different though. Either way, they deserve the pain.

It will certainly not be instant and painless.
But still way too painless for those guys. They should be shot with bb guns once every 10 seconds until they've been hit enough to die. Would probably take days.

One very minor difference:

These are serial killers, not political activists.

however, that whole kill-all-supporters-of-democracy thing is for the most part, gone.

I like China's death penalty laws - a life for a life. no appeals. we prove you killed a man, you're dead meat. literally.

For those who shoot guns, you'd know that you can easily tell if you shot a blank or a real bullet. If you shoot a real bullet, the gun will have a nice kick to it, while if you shot a blank, there would be hardly any kick since there is no bullet which is being accelerated.

I'm not sure if it's still the case, but I *THINK* Utah is a hanging state. You can choose it over lethal injection.

If done correctly (there's a forumla for rope length), hanging is instant (other then the short fall).

In order of preference (from best to worst), I'd go lethal injection, firing squad, hanging, electric chair, gas chamber.

What none of you have realized is that this is a religon thing. (the fireing squad) They are probably Mormons and as such believe in the blood atonement of the Church, just like Gary Gilmore.
