Dear Ronald Reagan

I'm a Canadian and I've found that there a few presidents (both past and present) that I have respected. I must say that I greatly respected Ronald Reagan and his accomplishments during his time as President and afterwards. It certainly takes alot to be the only President to be alive when an aircraft carrier is named after him. I respect his efforts with Gorbachev and detente with the USSR.

It's a shame that such a great man had to have such a debilitating disease.

I will miss him alot.

I'm sorry if you guys think this is a repost, but this is from the perspective of a foreigner.

He did not live up to his expectations.... pretty much like JFK, got into office due to public popularity, not political stance.

Who is the Canadian president? I seriously can't name one of them... of course, I doubt I could name any country's president, except for Tony Blair (if in fact his first name is Tony).

Errr Britain and Canada don't have presidents, we have prime ministers. Ours is currently Paul Martin, but we have an election this month which looks like it's going to be a replay of the last US election.

The polls put the conservates at 30% of the vote and the liberals at 33%

No, he just saved your ass from a possible nuclear holocaust.

Oh for f*ck's sake. Enough already. There are like 10,000 variants of this thread.

Get bent buddy, don't speak unless asked to.
Well, aren't we the badass e-thug?

As I said, there are a LOT of threads on Reagan. Go find one and jerk off to your heart's content, okay?

Where's the other 37%?😕

Regardless of other accomplishments, he's in large part to blame for the drug war, which has resulted in very short sentences and even shorter actual prison terms served by people convicted of actual crimes against other people, often violent in nature, to make room in prisons for people evil enough to put chemicals into their own bodies, often in the privacy of their own homes :disgust:... And Nancy... I was in like 2nd grade and remember thinking something like "what a ditz, 'just say no'? sheesh"

Do most other country's people know President Bush because he is the most well known president in the world, because he is the American President, or because they just know about other countries?

Because I think it is quite sad that we don't know sh|t about other country's political systems.
