I already clean, upgrade, and build computer systems of friends and family for free. In the last two years I have provided four newly built computers in addition to the repairs, memory upgrades, and other component upgrades to distant family and friends of friends.

However, to be told to freely give to others what is mine is too much. My money will never go to a charity and I will not accept someone telling me or even suggesting what to do with it. Charities and non-profit groups exist only to make their controllers rich. Any good done is merely a by-product of making someone rich.

The goal of any medical disease charity is not to cure that disease. If the disease was cured, no one would continue supporting that charity. Think about it.

Yeah, the OP is not a socialist. He's not asking the government to take people's money, he's asking people to consider helping people in need.

FWIW, I remember seeing a graph in Time or Newsweek that showed charitable giving as a percentage of net worth broken down by income. It was like an inverse bell curve. The rich give the most by far, it's the middle class and upper middle class who give the least (percentage-wise).
