She began using crystal meth shortly after getting married, an addiction which lasted for almost two years, and of which her friends, family, and husband were unaware. In March 2005, she voluntarily checked herself into rehab. In February 2006, she appeared on Good Morning America to publicly announce her meth addiction. She also denied tabloid reports of a "three-day bender" and an intervention from her former Full House castmates. She also announced that her husband filed for divorce because her addiction put his status as a police officer in jeopardy. Later that year, her divorce from her husband was finalized.
Now clean and sober, Sweetin has expressed an interest in returning to acting in movies or television. In July 2006, Sweetin became the host of Pants-Off Dance-Off, a TV-PG rated dance contest on Fuse TV. The program features mostly amateur ecdysiasts stripping down to their underwear to their favorite music videos.
