I have seen this a little in the past, but now it looks to become very common.

Maybe it is just multiple typos of the same type from the same person who post jobs for multiple firms...

I am sorry, but once you receive ANY one of the following, you should NOT be titled a junior or entry level engineer:

-4+ years experience
-a PE (I am puzzled at this one)
-PM experience (you really want an entry level person to be a PM?)
-a masters with 2 years non internship experience

I will give you the benefit of the doubt...maybe since you are not an engineer, you are not subject to the same scrutiny. After all, maybe that is why they pay us the big bucks...to pay attention to detail like engineers or scientists do....

I saw a borderline incoherent job posting yesterday for an IT position that required a BS, x number of years of experience, etc. Later in the posting, it said a Master's degree was preferred along with x number years management, etc. The funny part? The pay range was $35K to $40K. :D

What they should just say in these postings is: "Entry level pay for a mid or senior-level position" and be done with it.

HR doesn't have to be perfect with their requests.
They simply put out a crappy posting and they will still get 1000 resumes.

Who it really pisses off is the hiring manager, who has to sift through 1000 irrelevant resumes.

Administrative people are morons. If they weren't, they wouldn't be administrative people.

Many times they do not expect qualified people, so they can then grab a H1B person that is already slotted.

In my company the hiring manager writes the posting. Then again, in my company I've never seen such a terrible posting. Maybe those two facts are connected. :hmm:

This is pretty much every job listing I've seen. Or entry level job with mid level experience requirements and slave wages

We make our hiring managers write the job description and qualifications, and then we post it on our hiring site. It's their fault.
