I dunno, maybe I'm too old or something, but I hate the BB OS the BB Browser and Opera Mini

I'd read that eTrade was releasing software specific to the BlackBerry at the end of the month & thought I'd see if I could live with the phone.

Just got my last Curve unlocked to list on fleaBay, so I went through an online tutorial and used one of them for a couple of hours.

The Keyboard isn't intuitive
The options are too many key clicks to use quickly
The BB browser sucks
Opera Mini works, but damn it's nothing compared to my iPhone's Safari browser...
Screen resolution is lame
The trackball is an oversensitive annoyance

How the hell are these things so popular?

Sincere apologies to DBZ, but they suck balls... Even compared to WM 6, and WM 6.1 kicks it's ass.

I've been happy with my Curve as of late. I will agree that Opera sucks. The BB browser I find is better though. The keyboard is great - absolutely no complaints thus far. I think you really need to use the phone for a week or so to really get it down. It took some adjusting to from my old phone.

Why are they so popular? : You can do everything on it, literally. Email, text, phone, browse, pictures, video, calendar, task, mp3, etc. They're just a great all in one phone for the one the go professional.

How is not intuitive??? It's Qwerty. How do you use computer keyboards??? Are you confused by them too.
-The options are too many key clicks to use quickly
Because BB allows more options. And learn some hotkeys and shortcuts.
-The BB browser sucks
Better then the IE browser

You are comparing a good all around smartphone to a phone made for the web.
-Screen resolution is lame
Who cares? It's a small screen. More resolution is always welcome, but you are grasping at straws here.
-The trackball is an oversensitive annoyance
You can adjust the sensitivity.

Most of the employees at my office are now using blackberry, particularly the curve. Everyone seems happy so far. I am using an 8820 myself and while it took a bit to get used to the trackball vs a touchscreen, i now like it.

I would love mine a whole lot more if the damn thing stayed locked in my pocket. I hope they fix this with the next firmware.

Quick list of things to help you out 'Moose:

- Keyboard shortcuts. Use the help to show you them
- Opera Mini is fine. What sucks about it?
- BB Browser is pretty lame, yes.
- Screen res is lame? 320x240 is lame? Wow...
- Trackball is adjustable in the options by both vertical/horizontal and both settings can be set independently, so v=80, h=60.

Buck: Add lock to one of the side keys and hit that as you pop it in your pocket. That or get a holster as they lock via the proximity sensor.

Opera Mini doesn't work well for me. I hate the fact you have to resize the menus and pictures. Maybe I'm doing it wrong. For me, I like the BB browser - why? It's user freindly for me.

Uh, I dunno man. I'm running it on a Pearl 8120 and I get full images and no resizing.

Ya, i have it bound to the left side key (normally for voice commands) and it locks. However, i dont have it in a case and when its in my pocket, sometimes it unlocks itself. It happens often enough to bother me. The same thing happened a while back with my pearl before the newer firmware fixed it.
