Dear Dev Guy,

I have had the infrastructure waiting to plug your app in for two weeks. (Which you insisted you HAD to rewrite in Java even though the rest of the infrastructure is using Python, including the scripts that my teammate wrote which do almost exactly what your app does, and which you totally should have recycled instead of spending 3 weeks on this.)

So when you email me telling me it's ready to go, don't redacted close your email with "what's the ETA on getting your build pipeline ready?" like you've been waiting on me.

Especially not if your app somehow lost the ability to parse your own config file somewhere between builds 236 and 247. redacted, I'm a hopped up script monkey with an IT degree and I still know to unit test my functions and classes.

Sincerely,
Automation Guy

Nah. Just venting.

His work is usually higher quality than this. And every time he emailed me, he'd show up at my cubicle 30 seconds later to see if I got his email.

Honestly, I think his manager was breathing down his neck and he was shifting blame for a specific audience. I don't approve of blaming "IT" for your problems, but I understand.

The only thing I just flat-out don't get was the Java thing.
