no its because report writing is stupid! i do really well is poetry classes but reports are pointles because you can just look everything up on the internet anyway
By doing "really well", you mean you get a decent grade, correct? Composition classes are always softly graded, on the premise you cannot forcibly induce creativity, nor can you fairly judge creativity. Ergo, if you can successfully string a few words together, you get a decent grade.
The reports are not pointless. They are built to show that you can, in theory, think for yourself, analyze information, find sources, and create a logically structured document. In the real world, your ability to pass a creative writing course with some mediocre poetry won't matter. Your ability to create a functional orderly document probably will, even if you don't see it applying in the precisely defined form you are told to follow now.
The idea is not that you can look it all up on the Internet. They idea is that you know where and how to look for information, that you use a variety of sources, that you can understand the information, that you can distill it to what is necessary for your current purpose, and that you can assemble it a well-thought-out planned paper with good grammatical structure.
