He meant despised by Republicans. They did not like people seeing what a true fiscal conservative looked like. It made them look bad.

Hey, he never claimed to know how to run a frontrunner's campaign for President. But his record as Governor of Vermont truly is one of a fiscal conservative. Ask any Vermonter and they will tell you this.
