It's a fun area; the roads all around there are great. You're bike is also on Killboys weekly blog, about 7/10ths of the way down.
 
Did you hit the cherohala skyway as well? Lots of big high speed sweeping turns. We did the tail in my brothers 911sc a few years back. Were the TN state troops still out in force?
 
I did the skyway but at a slow slow speed. The clouds were in and we could only see about 10 foot in front of us.
 
Dude gets some pants... riding the Gap with just jeans on is a good way to get skin grafts.

Pretty ballsy to keep the carbon uppers on for the gap... I would've swapped to stock for sure

I just sold mine - I put a lot of miles on it over 1 year. Didn't have any problems other than the gauges fogging, which dealer offered to replace but basically said they all do it.

I'm ready for something like a k1300s but all of my friends are trying to talk me into a zx14. I need something a bit more touringish although I ride pretty hard up in the mtns so a gold wing won't cut it (although I'm aware of that crazy vid of some dude on a gold wing chasing down sportbikes..)
 
Also (not trying to criticize, maybe you're in an awkward corner or something) but you should sit where you can flap your elbows like a chicken and think "kiss the mirror". I used to ride similar to you - focusing a lot on holding myself up with my knees/legs..


The 1098 is imo built more for wide corners - it's a long bike, and not really built so much for the really tight turns of 129 but it looks like you had a blast! I'm jealous.. If only my 6 spring clutch would hurry up and get here for my TLS!
 
I just returned home with my new-to-me 01 Duc 748. Looking forward to visiting that area of TN/NC again with a new bike. It's just amazing...

I have a friend that lives there he said yes.

Although I only saw one cop there, while I was there.

Didn't you use to live in the Atlanta area and go to Karsent's LAN parties or am I thinking of someone else?
