dealing with "vista screen flash"

I've been experiencing the occasional vista screen flash pretty much I bought my laptop. I've tolerated it up til now but today I decided to google it and see if I can get rid of this problem (it's especially noticable when I'm running a full screen visualzation from winamp or other media player). How safe is it to do this? Currently I have uac enabled but in "quiet mode" using the tweakUAC program found here
