Dealing with directTV

So last summer I ordered Directv through an authorized dealer that would also supply a free dvd player and surround sound speaker set(dont have the exact brand they advertised anymore, but it seemed decent when i ordered it (not top of the line either though)

so anyway you had to have your service on for 6 months and after calling them numerous times they said they had sent it out 2 weeks ago, but of course it hasnt come.

last week I called directv, cause i didnt have the number to their authorized dealer directly, the lady told me that they no longer deal with this company and would start an investigation and call back in 7 days and they may offer my $50 credit, now i know the system i was offered to begin with was worth more then this...

anyone have any suggestions on key words to use when talking with them tom? I wouldnt be upset with getting a Tivo reciever or maybe the NFL package for free

Um, I wouldn't start off by saying "give me something for free then" or have that kind of attitude. Keep your calm even though you'll want to be able to punch through the phone. When you call back, ask to speak to the supervisor immediately. They make the decisions anyways.

Some former coworkers had an issue like this. Basically DTV offered a month of free service, and if they didn't want that, then they basically said oh well, tough luck.

Hmm, seems I am not the only one have trouble with DirectTV. They myseriously stopped sending me bills, then cancelled my service. Seeing as how they haven't charged me, I don't think I will bring it up.

~$100 in Magistrate court will solve your problem (threats no longer work) will likely get you more if they were in fact "authorized dealers)(serve their registered agents). I would try the "well fvck you I'll get Dish or Crapcast" route first.
