dealing with 2k virus...need help

Im faced with a virus on a win2k pro system. It came in as use.exe and it killed norton 2k1. I cant seem to track down the actual name of the virus and since I cant run norton I cant find the actual name of it. Another side effect is that it seems to kill telnet after about 30 seconds. Any thoughts? Any good bootable virus scans?

symantec virus database comes up negative here!
if you've got access to another pc the suggest you slave your present hdd & run a virus scan from the other pc OS!

You can also go here if you can get online. This will download a utility and scan your hard drive online. It might be able to come up with a name and if it can clean it, it will do that too, free of charge.

Why can't you boot with the Norton CD?? I'm almost certain that my Norton systemsworks cd is bootable.
