Yes it's true!! They told me three of my engine mounts were cracked. My dad said to let the place where we bought (independent mechanic) it fix it since their labor is cheaper, so they ordered three new engine mounts. They looked at it this morning and found that only the rubber in one of the mounts has a hairline. Also, the dealer lied about my rear brakes, saying they only had 10%. The moral of the story: DO NOT GO TO DEALERSHIPS TO GET YOUR CAR SERVICED!

Not all are bad, but the crooked ones ruin it for the rest of us.

HA... GM quoated me $1000 to do;

FRONT Brake Pad and Rotor Resurface
Engine Belt Change
New Motor for Driver Side Window

:Q

I went my uncle... (same car as me) Helped me get a $500 deal at the place he got the same service done. ($60 perhour was cut down to $25..cuz he knew the guys)

I'm buying a repair book for 01 Astros.. getting jack stands and a wrench set.. i don't wanna pay overpriced repairman anymore... :|

unless I have a tranny/engine problem I'll go to the GM dealer because of an extended warranty on those parts.. :disgust:

Might be worth going to 2 different places to have the car serviced (if the first one says you need repairs that is), just to avoid unneeded expenditure getting things fixed that aren't broken. A seond opinion is often a good way to save $$$
