Dealership Experience

Aimster

Lifer
Went to go look at a car today at the dealership. I called before I went and they said they had it. When I arrived 15 minutes later they said someone already bought it.

Major BS. So I found one exactly the same as the car they advertised and they keep me waiting for about 10 minutes and then come back and tell me that the car I originally wanted is actually available and I just need to wait more to see if the people buying it actually are going to go ahead and buy it.

I told the salesman to just give me the price of that vehicle on the same identical car I found. More BS about how I should just wait for the original car (it doesnt exist!). So I just walked out.

Wtf were they trying to accomplish by wasting my time? I found another identical car that they could have pricematched because there is no way they can BS their way out of how the other vehicle was different.

Dealerships just simply lie their ass off like that. My friend was looking for a 2003/2004 Ford F-250 for work, and we called several dealers to see who had some in stock. One dealer claimed to have "a ton" and to come on down. Well, we went down there, and they had zero. They even only had ONE 2006, so the salesman tries to convince my friend to buy a Mustang instead. I almost punched the guy.

A car salesman will often claim they have a vehicle because most of the time, they can GET the vehicle you want from another dealership if needed. I've bought several vehicles that were picked up from other dealerships by the dealership I was visiting.

He should have taken the Mustang and the salesmen for a test drive. One the salesman wouldn't forget! 😉

Then they should claim that. If you lie to me then we are done.
