I take my car into a dealership that will remain unnamed for now for its 30k mile check up and a oil change. Not more than 30 mins later they call me to tell that it was in a car accident. Apparently it was not the the dealerships fault. They were taking it to the second location where they service the cars and some dumb driver swiped the left rear corner of my car...ruined the mud flap(possibly bumper)/rim of my car. I take my car in to get things fixed arghh.. not the other way around. This was about a week ago and they gave me a loaner vechile while they fix the problem. It was supposed to be done by now but since there is an insurance hold up I'm gonna be missing my car for another week or more...

doesnt this suck or what?!?

the bad thing is my friend has had a horrible time with this delaership as well and i still went to them. they scratched up his rims on his brand new car but they did replace it for him. and i've heard about other horror stories especially when they deal with higher end vechiles.

I had the same thing happen to me. It really svcks.
And of course, if you want to trade it in later
it will be worth less since it was in an accident.
The dealer that crashed mine gave me that line when I
was trading it in on a new one. Needless to says
I gave him a long rant about who had the accident
and things ended up working out great for me.

so who knows

i'm pretty sure this is the last time i ever give them my business even if its not their fault that a nut tried to run a stop light. i've jsut heard about the carelessness they show when dealing with peoples cars. another story i heard from my friend was that a service guy let a rim roll right into someone else's car. apparently causing a large dent to the side door.

if you guys wanna know where PM me if youre in the seattle area. i wouldnt want anyone ot take their car to this dealership after what i have heard.

You know, if this happened to me, I wouldn't let them get away with it, even if they offered to fix it for free.

I would bitch and moan.. hire a lawyer if I had to.. until they gave me a brand new car of my choice on the lot.

At least of equal value.

even if the accident was caused by a different driver? i think i would have a problem with that. If it was one of their drivers i would demand some sort of reinbursement

Ahh... Well, that's true.

Yeah, you're right. That's not as bad. If it was one of their drivers hitting a pole or something though, you bet.

You'd end up on the short end. Most the dealer would do I bet is maybe, MABYE, give you the equivelant loss of value to the car and repair for free. But a new car? Wouldnt happen.

Hey lucky
you should complain to the dealership about the accident.

I wouldn't doubt that they would offer you like several upcoming maintainance for free.
Also I'm sure they're providing a loaner for you without cost which is always nice. Did you get the ES300 ? or the RX330 ?

I would press the dealership to cover the cost of your insurance deductible.

Sorry to hear about your ride... Good luck!

they got me a es300 free of charge only has 1000 or so miles on it which is pretty sweet

there isnt a insurance deductible because i think they are getting moeny from the person's insurance company.

No way, either the person who hit the car or the dealer should be paying for the damage (and the dealer should be working that out). His insurance shouldn't get involved at all, at least not financially.

AGREED. After they fix it tell them you want 10-20% of the Vaule of the car in cash, as it will lose at least that much when you have to sell it or trade it in. And it will be on carfax now, so make sure they don't try and pull one on you.

If you were looking at a car that go's for 10K and they were asking 10K BUT it was in a accident would you still pay 10K for it? NO!!! So no one is going to give you full value for your car now.

You need to relax. Go smoke a bowl or something.

The dealership isn't going to do that - it wasn't their fault. It is the risk you take everytime you get into a car.

I didn't say the dealer should pay but whom ever fault it is should. After a accident you should be no less then where you were before you started. That means you are healthy, if you were hurt, and you either get a fair price for your car/bike/etc... or it is repaired and you get any devaule it may have becuase of the accident.

You are telling me if someone hit your car and they fixed it you think it is NOT going to hurt the value of the car?? Wake up, it is. I tell my customers you might be able to save some money of a car that has damage or even salvage, but you beter keep the car until the wheels fall off, as it will be worth nothing in a very short time.
