Dealer cash incentives-> delivery date and clearing my check?

For the prizm, there's a $750 dealer cash from GM that ends today (5/31). i'm going to try to get the dealer to pass some/all of that to me.

1) but if paid by check, can i drive off the lot w/the car today? or do i wait till it clears and get it next week. if i get it next week, will that $750 incentive be valid (even though i signed the papers on 5/31)?

2) do they, in general, accept credit cards? if so, what's the merchant fee for visa/discover card?

You'll need to ask the dealer. They will probably want to verify funds in your account by calling you bank, so make sure they can at the time you will be at the dealership. If they won't be able to, it would be best for you to bring in a cashier's check + some cash if you don't know what your final purchase price will be. I highly doubt that they'd roll you without verifying funds.

if thats a factory to dealer incentive they're not going to pass it over after you and the manager have signed the buy order. thats something you have to get out of them when negotiating the price.
