sign up for it if you love games. they run specials every 48 hours and only those on the list get the prices. it's usually a brand spanking new title for 24-27$. like civ3 and ghost recon were the last 2, both 27$ to subscribers.

I'm a little weary of this site: I was checking out and made a mistake, so I hit back on my browser, changed quantity and suddenly it became someone else's account, shipping to a Robert Veesaert of Wildwood, CO.

Be careful.

I've ordered from compuexpert many times. Definitely one of the best places to buy games (or anything) from on the Net. Incredibly fast shipping times, low prices, great customer service. I highly recommend them.

(wonder why they're changing their name? I guess "compuexpert" was a little weak, but they were just starting to get known. i hope they didnt get bought out....)

yeah, I noticed that too.
cmsanto left his sessionid in the link he provided.
i closed out my browser and just went to www.gogamer.com and it seemed to work fine.
Its a very, very well done site to be a scam site. I went ahead and ordered Civ3 $22.89 with shipping.

One thing to note is that this is NOT the RETAIL version. so NO BOX and NO MANUAL.

Ghost Recon still comes up over at the original site Compuexpert under the 48 hour madness sale. Check it out, it was there when I just checked, unless its only for members.

$27.90 for the game. I ordered it earlier today. Wife is going to kill me, three games in one day!!

Another "thumbs up" for compuexpert....BTW, the Civ III deal comes in a jewel case without the printed manual, but there is a PDF version of the manual on the CD.

Is it normal for Civ3 to be so choppy? And 2nd, I've built quite an army, so my turns take up 3 to 4 minutes everytime... is there anyway to speed that up?

Compuexpert rocks! I've bought plenty of games from them. Too bad I'm playing retro stuff now (SNES and NES games... :D)

<< Ummm is this a pirated version? If not, WTF? >>

Also, they don't sell pirates. Those are OEM copies my friend. Those games are probably bundled with hardware or packaged with prebuilt machines (such as Dell and so forth). I can understand why you might need a manual... but the box isn't worth anything. (unlike vintage console game boxes.... I really wished I saved them... well I did, but my mom decided to throw them out! I could've been a rich man by now)

Guys how would you rate civ 3? I hear that its an awesome game. But is it worth the money? And more importantly how hard is it to learn this game since I haven't played civ 1 or civ2. Thanks

Civ 3 is really the first "NON-RETAIL BOXED" software that I've seen from them. As just mentioned, the box is really not worth it, especially not for another $10-$25, and the manual comes with the game as a file. I may be wrong but I believe all the other games they are selling, including Sims Hot Date for $14.50 (perfect x-mas pres for that teenager who already owns the SIMS), are full retail boxed versions.

The Civ 3 price is probably a one time only promotional thing to help launch the new website.

Actually, this version of the Civ3 game is a gray market version.......or as their site states: "...arrive(s) in Import / Jewel Case packaging." This version was not intended for US sales, just overseas. This tactic of importing overseas versions of stuff for gray market sales in the US is not new........cameras and electronics are known for being gray-marketed.

Unfortunately, in cameras and electronics at least, manuf's warranties are NOT in force in the US on import stuff. In this case, guess it doesn't matter as long as the languages include English.

Netwire, that's the retail version. The OEM version is still 17.90, look to your left for an orange gradient table, saying "Subscriber Deals"
