<< michael dell's lackey responded...see website >>

Well we received our five 17" Dell LCD panels and five sets of HK-695 speakers the day before they notified us that they were going to cancel our orders after accepting our bid to order bid from their quote-to-order system. In response, I cancelled the AMEX private payments number used for our PO and now Dell gets nothing!:) In fact they are paying us $140 via eBates to take their goods! If Dell and crew wants to quote contract law then bring it on as we have 75+ contract specialists here who would enjoy the challange

If you do NOT want your order fulfilled and you have already entered it onto the website, please email ric@companyhonor.com and you can be removed. There is a good chance it will be fulfilled in the next couple of days, but I'm not sure if they will call first to confirm you still want your system.

Just checked Dell's site, my order went into production today at the said price -- I was on rk0's list. I still can't get any answers about the $100 MIR though (I told them to double the ram if I can't get it, but still nothing). Anyone else have any luck?

Personally, I think Dell is trying to give us the shaft on the $100 MIR. They seem to be trying to pull the wool over our eyes; they don't respond to the MIR question and re-created our orders just in time to miss the MIR offer. They had three weeks (or one week after the "call" to honor the cancelled orders) to re-create the orders, but only manage to do so after the offer ends. Sounds suspicious to me.

If Dell is taking this initiative to reconcile their error they should do it right and win over the customer. I guess they want to be sneaky and avoid the issue of the MIR, so they can at least say they offered the system at the said price. Too bad it's not the same final price. This issue of avoidance is bad customer service / relations, and definitely doesn't help their image after the fiasco.

Yes, this horse is dead, but let's beat it some more.

No word on the rebate yet - maybe try calling the rebate company and see if they will honor it.

rk0 - I am glad to see everything worked out for you guys. I still have the five free 17" Dell LCDs from this deal sitting in a corner of my office. Maybe Dell will learn from their egotistical actions... but then again maybe not!
