Please be nice, first post, i did search...:)

Found this by accident: This is by far the lowest price I've seen on this new TV - 2099 at Costco etc. Supposedly the next model due out soon VF5552XVT will have connectivity and widgets for the original same price of 2199.99

VIZIO VF551XVT 55-Inch XVT-Series TruLED 240 Hz SPS HDTV

price cut
List Price: $2,199.99
Price: $1,499.99
You Save: $700.00 (32%)

Not sure what the pre-order means.

Great TV & good price ,

but because this offer is through Target ,

NO FREE Amazon shipping . $200

Also $150 sales tax .

Still "WARM" , good post .

I wonder if it will appear in store for a similar price or do a price match in store to online price. The previous model of the same size is available in store for the 1499 price. If you could avoid the shipping, this could be a great deal on a local dimming LED set.

I read through the article in your sig. I have a Vizio I bought from Sam's Club and got an extended warranty through them for cheap. I have had zero issues with mine and love it.

Just FYI....the VIZIO VF551XVT has been out since June. The VF552XVT will be released on 11/15.

Amazon's order page is misleading.

I understand that most will have your experience - but what if you don't? I had a friend get robbed on a $900 vizio, 1 month out of warranty that vizio wanted $874 to repair after the brutal shipping extortion - he junked it, wrote off the loss and bought a Samsung. And, few area shops handled the brand despite the number of sales :-( Hopefully things have changed.

Sam's and costco are really the way to go. I also use my amex to double the warranty.

Just FYI:

This Vizio VF551XVT is currently $1899.00 at Costco (just got back from the one in North Austin they had several). But they're having a Black Friday sale with a $300 off coupon (you get the coupon book when you walk in....at least I did today).

That puts it at $1599 + tax

Amazon has it for $1499 but $200 shipping.

So Amazon would be $1699 + tax.

Personally, I don't like the styling of the 55 inch. Nice screen, but the styling bothers me. I'm leaning towards the 47 inch. Or something else. I just can't decide.

http://www.vizio.com/index.php/support/#warrantydetails is Vizio's current warranty policy. This paragraph would answer one of your questions:

"Units 30” or larger will usually be serviced in-home. In-home service requires complete and easy access to the unit and does not include de-installation or re-installation of the product. However, in some cases, it may be necessary to send the unit to a VIZIO service center. VIZIO will cover the transportation charges to and from the same customer location."

And at the bottom of the page is a list of out of warranty parts and service providers.
