Actually similar thread has been post in tops2's post "Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical (model:D58-00026) $19.92 AR at BB", and I try to make it hotter in that thread. However not many people notice that, so I want to repost for those who like MS Intellimouse most, which is the only good stuff Microsoft ever made! :) I already tried this in northern Indiana, and it worked fine without any problem

Here is the deal:
Go to local BB store and pick up one of the weekly Ad (this week MSIM is on sale for $29.92, pluse $10 mail-in rebate), then go to staples and pricematch it with BB, then use the $10 off $30 in-store coupon, the final cost is: $39.99-$10.06(PM)-$10(coupon)-$10(mail-in rebate)=$9.92 plus tax & stamp. The MS mail-in rebate is on the box, or you can find it by searching the internet, it's easy to find.

Update: If you guys still worry about the MS rebate, check this out:
Staples website has the Ad for this mouse with $10 downloadable MS rebate form. I have made a pdf file of this page or page1, in case it would change later. The same rebate form can also be downloaded here. So my point is you can send the staples website Ad page together with your rebate form to MS, I think Microsoft will honor this.

Thanks, I think I am going to do this for a gift (upgrade from a generic scroll mouse).

I have that mouse... I like it alot... very nice and feels great. I like the feel of it more than the microsoft explorer opticals... but they do have those extra buttons. Anyways, great mouse for a good price.

If you get this make sure the back of the box says it tracks at 6,000 times per second and not the older 1,500 ones.

no staples in st. louis, any suggestions?

edit: im thinking ill try this at office depot... they will probably take a staples coupon, but the PM and coupon will be a trick (too much work is what im thinking)

thanks. Gonna pick up one tomorrow if my sister gives me a ride, even though I have a logitech optical special edition (cherry red!) mouse already. One question, do I need to print out the entire page (for the 10$ staples coupon) or can I just print out the 10$ yellow thingy.

MS rebate is not very quick in my opinion. I'm still waiting for one from them.
Seems like memory, cd-rw drives, and now optical mouse prices are racing
for the ground floor.

Best Buy has this on their website for $29.92. Print out the ad BB Link
and take it into Staples. You could probably avoid two trips (purchase and return) to BB.
Staples should honor the ad.

Wait, let me get this straight. How are you going to get the BB rebate when you buy the thing at Staples?

I think the rebate is IN the box... and it's not a BB rebate, it's a rebate by MS

i know it's a long shot, but now that the staples 10 off 10 works again could we possibly add that to the mix? I'm guessing not since you probably can't combine two coupons and use together, but if you could it would be free AR!

...Or you could avoid all this effort and buy the Intellimouse optical from Sams Club for $19.97 and send in the $10.00 MIR on the box!;)

WARNING: THE REBATE WILL NOT WORK WITH THE NEW REVISION 3 MOUSE.

I just got off the phone with MS. Only the revision 1 and 2 mice are included in teh rebate.

And they can tell by part number.

Again you must buy a mouse in the carton that has some yellow. If it has no yellow you will not get the rebate.

For those who don't believe me call MS yourself at 1-800-622-4445.

Just trying to save people some hassle not rain on anyones parade.

I 'm not in the mood to call Microsoft but the mouse that I bought from staples has some yellow colors on the box ,sticker "improved optical technology" AND big green stciker "Microsoft Intellimouse Optical Rebate" . If they try to not honor my rebate I could sue em .
Sue Microsoft he-he :)
