Provantage Here has lowered the price from when I last bought from them. I paid $9 something and shipping then was reasonable. They jacked up the price to $14, and I said no way. Now back down to $7.69. I didn't go all the way through checkout to see what shipping is, I have one, just another way to get 2 USB's from MB header to up front. Best Buy sells these too, think this will be cheaper.
Edit: I need a spell-checker and, if you go
To Antec and scroll down a bit, you can see which Motherboards this works with.

The problem with Provantage is their shipping charge. The shipping on one of these is almost as much as the unit itself ($7.45 to my location), and if you get 2 the shipping goes up ($11.85 for me). I ordered mine from Techonweb, more expensive ($9.27), but their shipping charge doesn't increase if you order more than one. But these are nice units.

OT: has anyone ever seen a compact flash reader that mounts in a drive bay?

I used to have a PCMCIA reader that mounted this way, but it connected through an ISA card, which my newer motherboards do not support

you can make your own front port jack. take the rear port jack you get(if u get one with your motherboard, otherwise ignore) cut and extend the cables to the front of one of your drive bays. use the backplate as a template for the drivebay front plate. cut the holes out and mount it with screws. if my expaination was to complicated, dont ever touch any thing inside your computer; newbie!!!

Not bad - I paid $12 for these a few months ago. I wish they would make 3.5" versions, though - I like the one that Soyo includes with their Dragon series motherboards much better.

Also wish for fry's. Meanwhile i think it's $15 at bb.

redly1 OT: that's a brilliant idea!

deals99: i think we're talking about the kind for mobo's that already have front headers.

Is there anything like that, but for 3" drive? all my 5" slots are busy already
Ideal device would also have audio connectors on it

Ok, shipping make this cold. Shipping went up since I last bought. And you can get them locally now.

Heh - I bought one of these things just because it's SO OBVIOUS that they could be pretty easily modded.

redly: heh - get a USB 1.1 card with an internal port and then a small CF USB reader, Dremel a hole into the grill of this thing (it's very light metal) and you have an "internal" CF reader!

I'm planning on doing the same thing with a CompuNurse probe and securing it with that new crazy glue that bonds on metal.
