Deal Alert: Super Mario Galaxy

Anyone that buys Super Mario Galaxy in-store at Toys R Us gets a free $25 gift card for a future purchase. I can't imagine that any other store, B&M or online, is possibly going to beat a virtually half-price offer on one of the best Wii games, yet.

With the ridiculous amount of purchase-worthy titles coming out this season I'm sure that $25 will get put to good use. 🙂

If you can off load the gift card someone else it'll be great. but if you end up using the $25 towards another game the savings isn't that much. anywhere from 16% off MSRP to about 25% off for each title.

SMG can be had for ~40 bucks after coupon @ familyvideo.com

frys.com sells for for 42.88(15% below MSRP), I expect they'll have a sale the week it comes out to be close to there for in stores.

Only a few games are MSRP at TRU and elsewhere(B&M, online, etc)

Unless you use that gift card for ANOTHER good deal. They just had a buy 2 get 1 free deal, which is 33% off. Spend the $25 on 3 Wii games with a buy 2 get 1 free sale, and you're looking at a total cost of $125 for 4 games or 37.5% off.

Assuming there are 3 other Wii games that you want and have not gotten by the time the next B2G1 comes around (I have no idea how frequently they do that). There aren't many Wii games worth buying right now, but there will be soon (Fire Emblem, possibly BWii, SSBB, possibly Mario & Sonic at the Olympics)

Or if you did a B2G1 for 3 PS3 or 360 games it's $145 for a retail value of $230, which works out to 37% off.
