Or "A Tout Le Monde" By MegaDeth MTV is so dumb they banned it being pro Suicide when they missed the point completely..
Dave Mustaine rewrote it as "A Tout Le Monde" (Set Me Free) to clarify what the message was..

Fade to Black by Metallica know millions that have listened to it and none that have offed themselves...

This whole crap reminds me of the PMRC and Tipper Gore..

man they tried to ruin metal for everyone.. and failed miserably..

I remember watching that stuff on TV: Dee Snyder (Twisted Sister) reading a prepared statement... badly... in front of Congress was comedy gold.

OTOH, Frank Zappa testifying was just awesome. He made his point, and made it VERY well.

{edit} Found a partial quotation of Frank Zappa's testimony:

The PMRC proposal is an ill-conceived piece of nonsense which fails to deliver any real benefits to children, infringes the civil liberties of people who are not children, and promises to keep the courts busy for years dealing with the interpretational and enforcemental problems inherent in the proposal's design. It is my understanding that, in law, First Amendment issues are decided with a preference for the least restrictive alternative. In this context, the PMRC's demands are the equivalent of treating dandruff by decapitation ... The establishment of a rating system, voluntary or otherwise, opens the door to an endless parade of moral quality control programs based on things certain Christians do not like. What if the next bunch of Washington wives demands a large yellow "J" on all material written or performed by Jews, in order to save helpless children from exposure to concealed Zionist doctrine?

That's cute, but there's a difference between something that is clearly for entertainment purposes and something portrayed as legitimate information. Sort of like how a song about killing grandma is entirely different than, say, a news report that democrats are trying to kill your grandma. The latter might, you know, actually make people angry.
Presumably Republicans saying the Democrats want to kill your grandmother for the collective good is somehow inherently worse than Democrats saying the Republicans want to kill your grandmother for profit, right?

Dumb ass.

Exactly. Tortured, disturbed, violent people seek out violent music, games and movies. Conversely, violent music, games and movies do not create tortured, disturbed, violent people.

Drowning pool isn't, and never was metal... Let alone death metal... People will blame anything. FAIL.

Unlike programing yourself with angry music?

Right...

Clearly this article is fail, the point of my post is that it is fail; Blaming anything for crazy, other than the individual being crazy so clearly stupid it amazes me that people honestly try to blame video games, glen beck and pac-man video games.

You're right, maybe I am giving the extreme fringe too much credit in thinking their lunacy is merely a result of bad information instead of just born and bred nuttiness.

I agree but the logic used by the media lends it self to people making false assumptions and conclusion which appear as so: "Death Metal (or insert the now popular "political rhetoric" theme) while being entertainment can be mistaken as a call for violent action by a crazy person thus musicians (or politicians, talk show hosts, etc) must be careful with what they produce. In fact may be we should regulate death metal and all other forms of "violent" music to ensure that crazy people wont get any "crazy" ideas".
