Link - Interesting interview over at MTV Multiplayer blog with one of the devs of Deadly Creatures. They go through how Deadly Creatures got greenlighted to the state of gaming on the Wii and included this choice quote.

I mean, it is kind of an experiment though, because everybody ? from fans to the press to gamers ? have been saying they want more core stuff on the Wii, and they?re tired of the mini-game compilations. So the response to [the game] so far has been really good. I hope people vote with their dollars in February so we can make some more. Otherwise, it?s back to mini-games.

I feel bad for them, because they're in for a huge fail. The hardcore have pretty much abandoned the Wii, and publishers only see it as a huge ROI platform.

Yep. I don't think Mushroom Men did all that well on release and I would expect the same for Deadly Creatures unfortunately.

the problem is the wii pushed out all these mini-game compilations with nothing really "hardcore" other than maybe some first party games, and then the multiplatform games (which are 100x better on ps3 and xbox360) for too long, and all the "hardcore" gamers who bought a wii at launch have already gotten rid of it.

Or they still have it, but have another system also. They rarely buy any games for the wii, however.

I thought MM looked interesting but I haven't heard anything, other than one tepid review.
