Deadlifts yesterday 185x1x5 205x1x5 PB 225x3x5. I feel I could have gotten more but grip started to fail on my second set of 225.

Throw in some static holds at the end of your session or so. Just do 225 for timed holds.

Or some farmers walks :D

If his place has a reasonable amount of space and the equipment or DBs.

Towel pull ups are another good way to work the grip.

You're lifting for the wrong reasons if that's important to you. I lift alone in my shop. The only time you'll notice my workout routine is on the basketball court when I blow by you or out jump you for the rebound.

There is no right or wrong reasons to lift. Professionals do it for the recognition.

Recognition is one thing, having people watch you in a commercial gym is another.

Eh, my take is if that's what keeps you motivated, more power to you. I won't lie, aesthetics are definitely one of the reasons I work out, so I'd say enjoying having people watch you lift--while not my thing--isn't too terribly far from that.

Now, if you unnecessarily slam your weights down after each and every set to try and force people to pay attention to you, that's another matter entirely...

I'd much rather someone watch me locally and in front of me than someone I have no clue about in an audience.

Then again I am highly extroverted/Alpha.

My favorite thing is coming in after a hiatus due to injury and getting some snickers as I do more advanced lifts. About a month later those dudes usually stay out of my general area because I will ask to 'work in' and sort of embarrass them.

Really sad thing is everytime I come back those same folks haven't changed at all. They just waste 20-30 mins in the gym.

LOL that's so true, and describe maybe 70% of all the people who go to a gym. I moved in to this town almost four years ago, and the young guys I meet in the gym I chose are still the same skinny, unhealthy looking idiots who spend the entire time massacring their pecs and bicepses with as many exercices as possible without any warmup or stretching whatsoever.

Based on my gym experience, it is closer to 90%. Thankfully, the gym I frequent now is mostly filled with old, rich white people who have trainers actually making them work out. There are a few people who goof off though; and during the summer anything before 8PM is filled with a bunch of prepubescent teen scum doing nothing but wasting everyone else's time.
