Good price. Make sure it has all the features you need though. For example, no upscaling and no DLNA. But at this price, you'd be hard pressed to find a better value.

Don't even know what that is, just need something to run a budget 5.1 system.

Specifically this system:

Edit: Trying to upgrade from TV speakers on the cheap. This is for my dad who has hearing problems. I don't think a sound-bar will be good enough, he needs speakers closer to him so he can hear voices.

That's more than enough for your setup, Yamaha receivers are really good and compared with pioneer models, they are cheaper. i have a Yamaha and i'm satisfied with it, using it all the time, they pass signal on standby mode too. and easy to switch between sources even in stand by mode.
Edit: i ignored the deal's date again lol. it's back to $349! but still good.

I'm probably too late, but the RX-V375 would be enough to power that system, and can be had for $180. If you wait for sales, you could get both for around $400.

I got a 375 to power the very similar Energy Take Classic 5.1 speaker system and it sounds awesome for the price.

Jumped on this deal last Wednesday. Had to replace an Onkyo HT-RC360, the second Onkyo receiver to go bad on me. Decided to be done with Onkyo and go back to Yamaha.

I've only done basic manual setup so far and it still sounds pretty decent. It is surprisingly light compared to the Onkyo amps. It's about half the weight. It also doesn't get nearly as hot as the Onkyo did. In fact it's barely warm when in operation. The only thing I don't care for is the OSD. It is gawd awful - small, very basic, unintuitive, and a GUI design straight out of 2003.

Overall though I'm happy with this purchase and the price was right. Hopefully it will last longer than the Onkyos did.
