Just came here to post this. What cards are this one comparable to? Is it faster or slower than a 750ti 2GB GDDR5 card? Can you mine altcoins on it?

I'm just guessing here, but I think that this card is GCN, and the shader count puts it between the Radeon R9 250X (640 stream processors) and the 260X (896 stream processors). Am I close?

Edit: I mean, it's probably OK for entry-level or e-sports gaming, since it has 2GB GDDR5, rather than the DDR3 that my 250X cards have (blame XFX for that one).

Pros: About 70-something $dollars at time of purchase. Performance lies somewhere between the GTX 460 and GTX 660 Nvidia GPU series'... (if that gives anyone any sort of indicator of performance). To this day, I consider the GTX460 sort of the bare minimum for playable modern games (some games will need to be turned down to like 1680 x1050 on the GTX460). The ideal entry level card is more like a GTX660/GTX750ti...
This card is JUST A TAD bit under the GTX750/ti... For $100.00 you will want to get a 750ti instead of this one, but for the cheapest budget build, at $80 or less, this one is a steal. It plays Skyrim on ULTRA at 1080p, and it handles the Witcher3 on med/hi settings on 1080p... Fallout 4 at 1080p around med/hi settings... NOT BAD for less than $80.00

It's about the same speed as a 750Ti, so not bad for the low price.

If this card were $40 with no rebate, or just after promo code, I'd buy a half dozen to use in builds. Unfortunately, it's $70 after promo, with a $30 rebate. Ugh. Rebates. :(

I mean, its 1 rebate per customer and I think promo codes usually have limits like that too so I'm not sure your dream of a pantheon of cheap cards was ever going to happen. :p

I bit on it (why, I don't know...I don't really need more cards in this performance class. I think I have a problem) I have a perfect track record with 4myrebate rebates.

I was looking at the card to upgrade my fiance's aging 7850 1GB, but it looks like 7850 is actually a bit faster. Now, this one is 2GB as opposed to 1GB, so $40 to sidegrade, had to pass on this one. Good deal otherwise.

Yes, I think that the 7850 has more stream processors. But only 1GB of VRAM is really limiting these days. Might have to limit your res to 1024x768 and Low on modern games.

Yeah, I know 1GB is no good these days which is why I got excited about this deal. Unfortunately, this card looks like a sidegrade to 7850 - it does have twice the RAM but same or slightly lower GPU performance. She's actually using one of my old Korean QHD 2560x1440 monitors so there is definitely a mismatch between her monitor and video card. However, she tends to play older and less GPU intensive games such as CIV VI, SIMS4, Portal (she tried it for a bit), and all these games seem to run just fine on her 1GB 7850 at 1440p. Maybe in a few years I'll get Navi or respinned Vega and just give her my current RX480.
