Dead Wii?

I just went to turn on my Wii to play some SSBB and I noticed the red standby light wasn't on. My PS2, phone, clock, etc, are all plugged into the same power strip that my Wii is plugged into and all of those work fine. I tried a different plug for my Wii, but still nothing. I checked the connections in the back and everything looked fine. It was working perfectly fine last night and have no idea what the hell happened between now and then. Has this happened to anyone? Any ideas? I'll be pretty pissed if I have to send it in.. :|

Bad ventilation?

I'd say not. I just got home 2 days ago from school for the summer. Before last night I didn't use it since mid-march. And either way, there's plenty of space around the Wii for it to breathe.

Another victim of WiiConnect 24? WiiConnect has been blamed for frying a fair number of Wiis. Though it normally manifests itself via graphical artifacts during gameplay.

Mine died the day I got SSBB. The red light would come on but then when I tried to turn it on everything died (no light, no nothing). What was worst was the disc was inside and couldn't get it out. I called, I shipped, and got a new one. With the disc! Made me wonder if MS would've been as professional had this happened on my 360. As a side note, the invoice said parts were $70. So that's what the Wii costs.

Anyway, what they'll tell you to do is unplug everything and leave it alone for like 5 mins. Plug everything in again and try to boot it on a different outlet. If that doesn't work, ship it.
