Yeah, I was just reading some more posts and was thinking the same thing. Cool to hear that others are still getting in on this deal.

My officemax doesn't have this special... and I'm in one of the largest cities in the world! Any who, I know my BM will have it in stock since the deal isn't available in my region, so if I'm calling now does that mean that they're gonna check my area and have it available for me?

Now that I have the over-the-phone coupon code, I get a busy signal everytime I call, right after I press 1. :(:Q

In my area (Maine), both the 8mb and 2mb drives are OOS, can't put an order in at all. I was on hold 43 minutes too, oh well!I'm going to try on Monday or Tuesday, they might have more then..

I looked quickly and it seems:

1) 8 meg are OOS
2) To get rhough the phone is YMMV
3) If you can it is YMMV again with the 30 off of 150
4) HDD stll isn't on site...

im just getting a busy signal after i use the 877 number and press 1.... anyone else?

btw, i tried going to the store in springfield mo and they said they didnt even run an ad this week so they are giving no instant rebate whatsoever. they also said they ran a sale on them last week so they are still out of stock. what a waste of my time.

im still thinking about hitting bb and getting it for $80 AR, its still a decent deal and im about to lose my second 60gb drive in a month. not cool.

I was reading the first page and Mystic Man said that CC will PM it +10% and I have a CC next to me, but no OM so I was wondering how it would work.

Do I just walk in and demand the HDD for 60+10%=66$? Or could I force the 30 off of 150 coupon and get it for 33?

Can anyone help because this is the first time I've ever attempted something like this

EDIT: Here is the convo

Circuit City will PM the after rebate prices + 10%. but they don't offer coupons.

From CC's website:

"Our policy applies only to advertised prices. It does not apply to special offers or promotions, including rebates, free-with-purchase offers, and special financing."

They will probably PM up to the 139.99.

Anyone know if OM allows price readjustments for those who grab the drive now?

Well according to their website, they will readjust the price within 14 days of purchase.

I'm talking about Circuit City stores not their web site.
Remenber the Western Digital 120GB Hard Drive rebates are only valid from 5-25 to 5-31, so if you buy on-line before Sunday on rebates for you.

I got the 120gb 8mb hd earlier this morning at a local OM. Had to buy a $10 FAR item & a candy bar to put the total over $150. I brought the $30 off $150 printout coupon link w/ the officemax home page, the cashier took $30 off after getting approval from the manager since the hd was not available on line. :D

I did get a rep after about 25 minutes. The rep asked me first thing... 'Do you want to use a coupon ?', but he said all the coupon codes have already been used ! What the hey !

Just got off the horn, 1-877 number. ~40 minutes on hold, THER EIS LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL. Phone coupon I had worked, the nice man working there even asked me about why everyone was getting the 8mb version instead of the 2mb. That plus some $10 FAR, and I was set. Total was 120 + tax/change.

Talk about flood control... who else here is posting and on hold at the same time?

They told me the 2mb were OOS, what a shame, I had to go and settle for the 8mb. I added almost every FAR item that was in stock, which allowed me to apply the $50 off $250.

Total: 219.38
Rebates -202.98
______
shipped AR and tax 16.40

expected delivery 5/28/03
What a deal!!!

sweet, mysticman, you rock!!! and thanks lazarus for the code! the rep was super-nice, first thing she asked was, did i want the 8mb hd?! she said that's all they've been getting calls about all morning. if om/wd wanted to get rid of these drives (which i'm guessing they do given all of the wd sales in the past month) it's working!

anyway, i got the drive plus the khypermedia dvd-r's, used the $30 off coupon, and i'm out the door for $140+ some change, with $80 in rebates to come - net $60! only bad thing was the dvd-r's are OOS, if they don't come in in a week they'll take 'em off the order BUT prorate the $30 off - since the hd was already $140 i figure i'll still get ~$28 off. might be better that way anyway - i'm kind of nervous about khypermedia - if my player can't read 'em i just blew $25!!!

thanks again and good luck guys!

Success.

I got to OM 10min before they opened. My father and I were the only ones waiting. We picked up the only 2 wd 120gb 8mb cache hard drives they had in stock (they had no 2mb hd's). I purchased it w/the 50 pk cd spindle. When I showed them a printout of the internet coupon, the cashier looked confused and called the manager. The manager wasn't going to let me use it, but luckily I had called yesterday and spoke to a different manager who mistakenly said I could use it. As luck would have it, the cashier had been standing by the manager when he talked to me on the phone and confirmed my statement. Both my father and I were allowed to use the coupon.

After tax, my purchase came to $131.08.

Much thanks goes out to the guy who recommended calling ahead of time and asking about the internet coupon.
