I had this and I really like it. It's sturdy, but not portable as its frame is very heavy. It's about 6' long. If you can have it extended all the time, no problem. Folding every time would be a pain. It's durable; I used for about 5 years and no sign of wear. Great alternative to weight training.

I had a Weider gym and ended up giving it away nobody would buy it used. It was junk. Weider makes cheap equipment made out of light gauge steel and plastic that is not made to last in my opinion. The rollers which are the most important part of the machine are cheap plastic and do not roll smoothly. If you want this type of machine I suggest a Total Gym. When you are done using it.....there is still some residual value to sell used. Not like Weiders. You get what you pay for. Just my opinion.

Agree with donfm. The rollers are just rubber. No ball bearings or anything. But the low end Total gym is not any different from what i understand. I actually used the weider for a year because I could not do a pull up or many dips. I do use the pull up bars up top and think that was a nice feature that some other units don't have. The weider helped me strengthen my upper body to the point where I could do my own strength routine (pullups, dips, curls, pushups, crunches) without it. For $125, I think it was well worth it.

Actually the fact a unit has hard rubber or nylon rollers is not a deal killer as long as they are made of quality durable non metal materials. The important thing is the bearings. If the unit doesn't have good bearings it will eventually become harder and harder for the rollers to move and thus not a good exercise experience. There are a number of cheaper knockoff units that say total gym but the ones actually Branded by Total Gym do not use cheap bearings even the low end model. Not sure where you got your information. I went to the Weider website and they don't even give a weight rating for this machine. I'm guessing with a large person it would fold up like an accordian.....lol
