Shipping on one starts at just over $6, but adding more is only about 50 cents each.

(These were previously $14.99 - $15.99 with free shipping.)

Dual 12v rails, 1 SATA connection. Just be aware that the cables are a bit short.

Most modern PCs don't even draw 100 watts under load, let alone idle. 🙂 Heck, the PC in my signature barely tops 200 watts under full load!

Newegg Link for stats.

Jumped on the Newegg deal for these @ $13.99 last week (free ship) but these are not as hot simply due to being a refurb. Refurb PSUs worry me for some reason.

Heh I like refurbs. It's a second go through different quality control people at a different time- they get to knock out that initial slope in the bathtub curve.

The Basiqs only have a 1-year warranty anyway, so you're not giving up much in the way of warranty on this particular refurb.

FWIW, the refurbs have come packaged exactly the same as the way the "retail" ones from Newegg have -- plain brown box.

These are really geared towards system builders, or just for having a decent backup/test PSU around.

On one, the $13.99 deal last week at Newegg was much better. On 10, this is a better deal. 🙂

on the other hand you could pick this up from frys if you have one near by. then its a better deal.

I agree. I'd rather have a genuine refurb(not just open box) than a brand new product. The price is cheaper, and humans have analyzed and fixed it. With a new product, a robot builds it, and sends it off without anyone knowing if it even works.

That gives Humans 1 and Robots 0

Except humans came up with the whole scheme so Humans -1 too and thus:

Humans 0
Robots 0

Next round!

having worked in a refurb plant in high school for a computer manufacturer,

basically everything gets tested the same way when you buy it and on the rework lines. so basically they are the same.

i would rather have a refurb, than one inspected by frys though. at least someone at the manufacturer had to look over a refurb one.

Unbelievable that the two that I bought two weeks ago are already gone due to two customer PCs both with failed PSUs, so now I am wishing this deal were still alive. Next time I'll be smarter and buy four at a time !
