Single not Dual RAMDAC right? I guess for 10bux that would be a lot to ask..

Cheapest Dual RAMDAC card I saw at Frys is BFG GeForce 6800GS OC (Overclocked) AGP 256MB $160 +30MIR = $130AR w/ free shipping.

Anyone see a cheaper card with two RAMDACs anywhere else? Two RAMDACs are important for dual monitor performance at independent resolutions... like gaming on one screen while keeping a video editor going on the other, or whatever.

$10 for the Fry's 9550 (really an se with 64bit memory) may not be a stellar performer, but its very much got its foot in the door for basic 9.0 use. Passive cooling a plus.
$35 for the Newegg Jetway mobility 9600 seems like the next real step up.
$50 for the Compusa 9550 amir really isn't working for me, its going to be maybe 20% faster or so than the Fry's card, half the speed of the Newegg.
$130 for the Frys BFG 6800GS gets a seriously fast card.

Best of the week for me, first choice goes to finding a nice 9800 pro in forsale trade, bang/buck gets the old PC moving.
Can't complain with the Fry's 9550, its a decent performer in a LOT of older games, and Prince of Persia seems like a very nice game like a bit more adult Zelda with slick graphics.

I can't believe how hot deals has been after my wallet this week, I must have ordered two dozen different things.

How would this compare to an XFX GeForce 6200 (8xAGP, 128MB DDR, 256 bit graphics core)? I got the 6200 a couple months ago, but haven't installed it yet.....

NVIDIA GeForce 6200 182-307 from the same site I found the other benches, seems to vary a lot depending on the specific card, but rough guess is the 6200 is faster by up to about 50%, which should be noticeable, but not amazingly faster.

Both cards are targeted as minimum for HD output and DX9.

Did that 6200 come with a game, the 9550 does. ;)

No games came with it, but I got it for approx. $25 AR, cheap upgrade to what I've got now. Older system & I'm not a gamer, so not looking for anything screaming. Just wondering if it would be worth me watching to see if the price on the 9550 came back down online. If it were the other way around, the answer might be 'yes' (for $10) but since I've already purchased the 6200, sounds like the answer is 'no' for me....

Thanks for the feedback!

Well, it sure came quick. I ordered on Saturday afternoon. It arrived here Monday about 2 in the afternoon, DHL. This beats the heck out of ordering from Newegg, with a weekend intervening as it ususally does.

It so I happens I placed an order with Newegg Friday evening. (Yes I know Newegg doesn't send orders out until after the weekend and UPS doesn't move on the weekends either.) So Newegg reports they sent it to UPS in the late afternoon Monday, and it is not here as of Wednesday. It should be here tomorrow. Sometimes the Newegg-with-delivery combo makes up a day, but not this time.

The card has a gorgeous display. Updates Windows quite a bit faster than my 5900XT or Geforce2, which is pleasant. I only have a few FPS games, and they are several years old. It plays them at max eyecandy, max resolution, without a burp. The heatsink is barely above body temp. The ATi drivers have not given me any problems yet (knock on wood.) I wish I could have got several of these for $10 AR.
