Dead Video Card, Time To Upgrade?

Hello All,

My video card died recently on an older computer that I have & I am considering upgrading some or all components:

Specs:
AMD 3500+ skt939(Single Core, windsor)
Asus A8VDeluxe Mb
Nvidia 6800Ultra AGP Video (Sweet card way back when, but its dead now)
2gb Ram

This system before did 90% of what I needed & I was mostly happy with its performance.

1. What is a solid AGP care to replace the Video Card with ???

2. Since Dual core proc's are so cheap these days should I upgrade CPU's? Would I notice a perfomance jump? (Thinking Sub $200)

3. Should I just put a basic vid card in & Sell it, & use the money to start another Conroe Machine?

1. Sell the whole rig and your 7950gx2 and buy a 8800gtx for your other system.
2. sell your core 2 6700 for 2 more gigs of ram and a Quad core cpu for christmas. They will be 300 bucks by then.

My suggestion would be to upgrade your whole system. You want a good PCI-e graphics card. A good AGP card may be hard to find and will not take you into any future upgrades.

Unless you want to buy all new components, you might just sell your CPU and motherboard and reuse what you have left.

i'm thining of picking up one of these. i just need to make sure it will fit in my system because its pretty damn big.
