I don't get it, what is special about this qi charger vs all the other qi chargers? It acts as a stand as well? Anything else? I ask for you can find many qi chargers for less than $40.

From my limited research into Qi charging (until I realized my phone doesn't support it) the Tylt Vu gets high marks because it tends to work better than a lot of the cheaper models. It seems to have far less alignment issues than most of the cheap chargers. Not sure if that justifies the extra $$ but that is generally why people like it.

I have both a CHOE & a TYLT. My TYLT broke - no visible issues, and I couldn't get ahold of customer service at ALL. I also had difficulty positioning my Yipin iPhone Qi case to properly charge on it. So I personally don't have a very high opinion of TYLT because of my experience. I bought more CHOE Qi chargers for $23/pop & have been very happy with them:

The one thing I did like about the Vu is that it had an angled kickstand, which was nice for using on the computer desk because you could see your lockscreen notifications while it was charging. Although I could probably just get an angled 8.5x11" paper stand & some double-sided Velcro & do the same thing with my CHOE, or build something out of wood or whatever.

Thanks for the CHOE recommendation. I'll be using it for work in a quiet office. Is there any way to disable the beeping without cracking open the case?

Have you heard of the Aukey Luna?

Beeping? None of mine beep (noise-wise).

Edit: Haven't heard of that, looks neat tho!

I have both the Tylt and two Anker chargers and I think I bought the Tylt one because reviews of it indicated it would also work with my old Nexus 4 along with my Nexus 5.

I think both chargers will work with both Nexus devices, so I can't really recommend the Tylt one unless you prefer it from an aesthetics point of view.

I actually prefer the flat Anker chargers as I have an app that keeps my phone on if it is tilted more than a certain degree, so if I used the Tylt one my screen would never shut off.
