^ Typical factless post from you. When confronted with the facts that prove you wrong, you just keep blustering your agenda.

FACT: this dev currently has a bigger hit on Android than on iOS with Shadowgun. I guess iOS users can't separate from a dollar.

FACT: this "Dead Trigger" game currently isn't a big hit on either platform, and never was on Android. This dev alone proves it's possible to have a hit on Android, as they have one that's been near the top of the charts since it came out. Now they've released some POS that even given away for free doesn't top the charts. So no one was clammoring to buy or pirate it, or have anything to do with it; it's just not all that popular.

FACT: you could really care less about any of this, you just like to bitch about Android, AS USUAL.

It was top selling upon release. Android users can't separate from a dollar. That's more believable than a publicity stunt. Look around, Devs aren't making nearly as much on Android.

So, it was top selling upon release yet at the same time Android users cannot part with a dollar. Got it. What exactly were those Andoid users that made it a top selling app upon release paying with? I am betting it was some form of dollars.

It's #13 in top paid action games on iOS.

It's #13 in top paid action games on iOS.

It's #39 for all games, and #65 in apps.

None of their apps makes a showing in top grossing iOS apps (I stopped looking past 200)

Meanwhile, Shadowgun is #34 top grossing on the Play Store- a larger market than the App store.

Once again FACT: this dev is currently making more money on the Google Play store than they are on the App Store. I guess iOS users are cheap deadbeats. :p

There's a contingent of people that are actually upset to the point of being abusive about this app now being free. I can't believe people are blowing a nut over 99 cents.

I wonder why people are so upset with such a shitty game in the first place. I tried it out, and its boring as all hell, as with 99.9999% of all phone games.

So TYPICAL of you! Trying to change the subject when all your useless blustering is proven DEAD WRONG! Too funny!

I'd rather have the 20th best selling app on iOS than the 5th on Android. iOS is where the money's at. Don't take my word for it though, ask any cross platform developer for their opinion.

^more bluster and trying to change the facts. Are you ever right about anything? No, as charged, you just like to gripe mindlessly about Android. Facts be damned.

The facts here are the developers of a cross platform game make MORE on iOS and the piracy level's higher on Android. I don't care if it's not a "top selling app" facts be damned though right? They're not complaining about iOS here, only Android.

You know someone has a terrible argument when they attack the source and not the content. Never once have you refuted the fact that piracy is a big problem on android.

Nope, its the stupid developer. How dare they complain about the benevolent pirates! It isn't the pirates fault the game is shitty! Quit whining about piracy, your game sucks. That is why nobody will pay for it!

Never one mention of the fact that they can see hard numbers of who is using their app without paying for it. You would rather come up with a conspiracy theory about them doing this for publicity. How ridiculous.

and of course you keep on mentioning shadowgun under TOP GROSSING. Of course it will be higher on that list, its $4.99. Why are you looking for a .99 cent app on the top grossing list? Oh yeah, its to twist the facts to your liking.

The play store is a larger market than the App store?

Since you love to look at 'top grossing' charts please show me one that lists the play store as the 'top grossing' market over the app store. Oh wait you cant. Looks like your facts are wrong.

Boy, between the two of you, you mount some of the 'dumbest' arguments on the entire internet.

Do you even know what 'top grossing' means? Do you know what 'gross' is?

Can you look at anything with your own two eyes and actually use your brain, or is even that too difficult? There are plenty of apps in the top grossing lists of both stores that are $.99, even free because they have in-game payment models.

In the opening article, the dev themselves say Android has a bigger marketshare than iOS.

You people simply can't read, were proven wrong in all your bluster -the dev makes more money on Android than they do on iOS, and here you are making lame made-up arguments about $4.99 vs. $.99 like that had anything to do with anything.

No wonder no one takes either of you seriously.

and you think people take your blustering FUD seriously? I mean look at the crap you have written in this thread. It is very clear all of your arguments are based on attacking the source, not the content. Yet here you go again doing the same crap. Quit being so angry about everything.

Again, please show me financial statements where the Play store is now grossing more than the App store. Pretty pretty please.

For all that asked before Dead Triggers Piracy Rate on Android was 80%

I guess its not a big deal tho right? They are probably lying about that. Its all a publicity stunt. Right right? There is no problem to see here, move along people.

More to dispel the 'Shadowgun' comparison you keep on making:
Your last game, Shadowgun, remains available to buy for an up-front cost on Google Play. Was it pirated less?

The piracy rate of Shadowgun was actually even higher, but because it was for sold for $8 and then reduced to $5 later, there was no effective way we had to defend against piracy.

Funny how you didn't quote this part

What do you think could or should be done to lower piracy rates on Android?

We would like to point out that, in our opinion, piracy is not a problem of Android itself.

Google has made many good decisions on fighting piracy and with Jelly Bean it's taken the right action.

Piracy is a general contemporary problem. It is so easy to get pirate copies everywhere for free that people don't even think about buying it. This is the norm nowadays.

It's normal now to not pay for anything you can have for free, and nobody cares. All developers have this problem, and we're no exception.

What a lame smokescreen. I'm convinced, something about squinting too much at tiny 3.5" screens stunts mental growth.

The facts stand: the developer does better on the Google Play Store (a larger market even by their own estimate in the opening statement) than the iOS App Store where they don't even make a splash on the top grossing lists. You can't refute that, so you just try and throw up crap to divert from it.

This is a fact in-spite of whatever piracy issues. The fact that there's piracy doesn't change the gross sales charts.

You haven't proven they make more money on iOS- they don't state any such thing anywhere, and their ranks on iOS charts prove they aren't burning them up.

Again, facts to you are like kryptonite because all you want to do is bitch about Android. (AS USUAL). I'm guessing its a side effect of being stuck with the same outdated and too-small screened phone for so long. :p

I know iOS makes up about 85% of app sales, you can't be "top grossing" when you only have 15%, math doesn't work like that. So you're calling me dumb, yet turning around and saying that more $$$'s made on Play than the App Store. I would be insulted but that's too damn hilarious to really even feel insulted over. Also the developers here aren't exactly small and unknown. They've sold millions of apps between the 2 stores. I'd say if anything they're definitely one of the more successful developers out there. Just because they're not doing Angry Bird numbers doesn't mean they're hurting and need publicity.

Two things:
1) #39 for all games and #65 in apps is pretty damn good in my book
2) There is a huge logical flaw in the bolded statement. It may be correct but it doesn't logically follow from the evidence. It ranks higher relative to other apps in the Google Play store vs relative to other apps in the App Store, but that doesn't mean it makes more money in the Google Play store vs App Store. That would require secondary evidence.

Yeah I understand that piracy is a problem, and apparently piracy rates are higher on Android than on iOS because of Android's sideloading feature (whereas iOS requires jailbreaking to do it).

My question is, what is the point of iOS fanboys waving their fingers at Android fanboys as if they are all guilty? Outside of trying to claim superiority I don't see any good reason. Then again, all the fanboys on both sides seem to do is look for ways to assert their own superiority so I guess it doesn't surprise me.
