Hello everyone,

Okay I got a new motherboard the other day (Iwill XP333-R) to replace my MSI Pro 2 RU. I moved everything over into the new motherboard (CPU, Ram, Video) and booted up and nothing, no video, the power just turns on and sits there no HD activity or anything.

So I figure maybe its my video card, try two other known working cards (both AGP and PCI) and neither work.

So I figured maybe I had a DOA board. I put the stuff back in my MSI board and the same thing happens. The MSI has those diagnostic lights and it says CPU not installed properly or damaged.

I see no visible damage and the HSF is on tight and correctly. Think it got fried from static somehow? Any ideas?

Any help is greatly appriciated.

Thanks

A CPU is quite a robust device that can withstand a lot of serious mistreatment. Check for bent pins by looking at the CPU on edge and sighting down the rows as you rotate it around. Needle nose pliers work pretty good to straighten the bent ones but you can also use a small screwdriver, a ball point pen, or a table knife if you are careful. If it doesn't work now, you can't make it any worse.
