Once I figured out the "gamefly hack*" I got Dead Space: Extraction for the Wii and I must say I was expecting some huge disappointment like The Conduit was. I am pleasantly surprised! The gameplay is great, and the fact that it is "on rails" doesn't bother me a bit. I am completely surprised at how nice the graphics are for a Wii game, however I swear the game is too dark. I upped the brightness as far as it would go and I feel like I am STILL shooting at a shimmer here and there in a completely dark area.
Having a short amount of time to look around and grab ammo during what can only be described as a "Wii QTE" has me frantically waving my wiimote around looking for blue shimmery stuff, and the fact that I can't backtrack or redo anything adds to the survival horror feel. The ONLY thing that bothers me is that the rivet gun has unlimited ammo, totally NOT survival horror material.
I must admit that I don't buy console games, just use gamefly, so I honestly couldn't see myself happy with spending $50 or whatever on this game, but having it for a week and playing it as often as possible is keeping my interest. This is coming from a guy that has sent back multiple games after playing them for 2 hours.
My credentials: I think Batman Arkham Asylum was one of the best games I ever played, also really liked Bioshock quite a bit as well as Wolverine on the PS3. Hated mad world, sent prototype back after ~8 hours of play time, and thought valkyrie chronicals was a huge POS... just sayin'
*gamefly hack = only have X games in your queue (where X = games at a time) that you really want, not a 20 strong queue or else you'll never get new stuff when it comes out
