Hey, so I just finished dead space 2 tonight. I played the original game and it's one of my favorite games of all time. The sequel I have to say while being a very good game and awesome in it's own right, isn't as good as the first in my opinion. Thinking back to dead space 1, it felt more epic and original.

I played it on survivalist, took me 10 hours. The weapons I used were the javelin, line gun, detonator, and pulse rifle. I upgraded the javelin completely because the ammo only cost 400 in the store, and the alternate fire on it is f***in powerful (especially with the exploding upgrade), so it seemed like the most cost effective weapon. I really liked the detonator, it helped me deal with parts of the game where you just get swarmed. So I would put mines in places they come from and that even'd the odds.

I didn't really use stasis until the game made me realize how necessary it was. After that I used it in every firefight.

I didn't really get the plot completely. They said that Isaac built the marker.. Does anyone understand how that is? And I don't understand how he got to that hospital, like how the two games connect. I Would appreciate any explanations :)

And I started a new round and got the riot suit which looks pretty sick. Has anyone gotten any new suits past that? I I know there are more advanced suits but I don't know if I have the patience to play the game again just so I can get them. Has anyone found them? If so at what part of the game and are they even worth the effort.

Yeah so I would definitely like to hear your take on the game and your opinions as well.

:D

You're in the PC forum. As such, outside of a certain hex-edited savegame, no one has gotten any advanced suits or rewards save the riot suit. It's bugged on the PC, and they aren't available.

I've barely started it, but I'm very very impressed, though I wish it had a FPS mode. The graphics are quite good, and it's got great atmosphere and production values, and moves quite smooth at max details on my mediocre rig (phIIx4be, 5770, 4gb) at 1920x1200.

True,
One of the things I remember that really impressed me with the first dead space, is how well it ran on the laptop I had then, that had a 7800gs card. Ran smoothly and looked awesome.

I like it. I'm on my second playthrough right now. Haven't got the riot suit yet, but I'm still in the first couple of hours playtime. I like this game as much as the first one, but it doesn't add much to the gameplay from the first one. I like the graphics, except for a couple of nagging points. Getting 60fps vsync to work is an unnecessary pain, the in-game AA settings doesn't seem to work, and forcing AA through CCC slows the game to a crawl. That doesn't make sense to me considering that I can run it at 150-200 fps without AA. Still, the game looks quite nice without AA.

I give it a solid 8/10 and I haven't even tried multiplayer yet.

This game is as console port as they come, you won't need much horsepower to get max details.

Only 10 hours of play tiem? I thought the first game was at least twice as long...
