I finished Dead Space on the PC and thought it was decent,I did not like the controls much but sort of got use to them.

The game did not cost me much so I got more then my moneys worth.
I would of purchased Dead Space 2 when the price dropped,as to being cancelled due to poor sales well thats down to them and their marketting.

I think the 40,000 sale figure is too low to be the real value.

"At retail domestically."

Of course it's not the real value.

Of course it's not the real value.

In other words, PC gamers won't buy poorly done console ports at console prices and can wait for a deal to come along. But it's easy to blame it on piracy or a shrinking market. Dead Space certainly isn't one of the worst ports but they certainly didn't spend a lot of time working out the control scheme. I bought it during the Thanksgiving sale and have enjoyed playing it in spurts. I'll finish it eventually, of that I'm sure.

It's really looking like EA will soon exit the PC market totally. Good riddance. That will give the publishers that value our market more room to operate.

I friggin loved dead space. EA sucks for this. Actually they sucked because there was no support for Dead Space to fix the vsync issues with the game. EA just palin ole sucks

Probably a business decision - if the game isn't predicted to sell a certain # of units - then they won't waste the time/effort to "port" it to the PC [damn... that sounds pretty sad - remember when PC games were ported to the consoles?]

Eh - $199.00 buys an xbox360 arcade [or a few buckaroos more and you can get a ps3] - if you really need to play those games [and other epic titles that won't make it to the pc] - then you gotta go console. :(

I do. :) And i'd imagine it's going to head in that direction again at some point since console hardware is about 5 generations behind current PC hardware.

That never really worked out well. PC ports to consoles were way worse than console ports to PCs.
Crysis could barely run on consoles, and they just didn't bother to port it. Probably for the best, since all the Farcry 1 variants on consoles were complete crap.

I loved dead space, played it on PS3 but I could see it being fun as hell on PC as well. There needs to be a gamefly-esque service for PC, I NEVER buy a console game, just use gamefly

OMG, there's gamefly? :hmm:->:\->->D:-> "head explodes"

Quake 3 Arena and Unreal Tournament are two examples of AAA PC titles that were ported exceedingly well to console.

Another victim falls to the consoles ~

Consoles are cool, don't get me wrong but the PC is still the best, most powerful and coolest thing around. It always comes down to $$$. Until users can pirate console games like PC games, the PC gaming industry will suffer and so shall us PC Gamers :(

This game is designed to take advantage of the fact that dual thumb sticks are not as precise as a mouse. That is a great idea. Very Sun Tzu. Take my weakness and make it a strength. Brilliant! However, i cannot handle using a mouse and then having these guys make a port that not only screws with my strafing but makes aiming like mousing through cold, viscous peanut butter. I am sad that such a critically acclaimed game failed on the PC, but i am not surprised. Then again, i hated playing Resident evil 4 on the wii and not being able to strafe at all. So this genre of shooter probably isn't for me in the first place. Who knows? I don't own a 360 or a PS3, any way.

I have to say that I'm having a blast with this game and think it is under-rated (though ti is short). Some of the interface for the pc is not well explained or inconsistant (they throw up a rotating symbol and sometimes your suppose to use arrorw keys and sometimes mouse; sometimes esc works for cancellation and sometimes it doesn't; that sort of stuff and none of it is documented). However most of these are minor nibbles. Kind of sorry EA owns dead space IP as I think this will be my last EA game (origin is just too much of a head-ache for me to deal with; as crappy as gwfl is it has never actually dos'ed me; but ea stuff is constantly down and then games down't work right (like DA dlcs).

Sigh.
