While I might agree with you in principal that a good quality 350 watt PS could run a high end system with basic features, I think you are way off base with the comparisons to the SFF units. They don't usually run half the peripherals, fans, etc that a regular system does. Apples to oranges comparison.

Not really. It all depends if you are going to really fill up your system or just getting the basics. With a 150W larger power supply, you should be able to run some extra fans and PCI cards. It also depends on what motherboard you are using. You may have NO PCI cards in your system. This case has two fans. Not much of a power drain there. There isn't much difference in the number of components from the SFF and standard PC.
What I am trying to say is that this would be fine for a majority of people who use computers. For those of us that have three or four hard drives, a bunch of fans, many PCI cards, CD Drives, DVD Drives, it wouldn't.

Good find -- my development + FLAC music jukebox server is running in a 3700 and it's a very nice case.
The 350w PSU is powering a Tualatin 1.3, 512MB RAM, gf2mx, CD, and 5 hard drives (30, 120, 3 x 250).

I had someone a few weeks back (not ont this board) telling me that I needed at LEAST 450 watts to run an Athlon xp 2500+ with hdd, dvd, and video. Which is funny since I was running 2 opticals, 2 hdd's, 5 pci's 1 agp, 3 fans, and a floppy off of 300 watts for a long time. Only reason I upgraded at all was because I didn't want any conflicts with power while I was at college when I added another optical and a few more fans.

Everybody...come on this is antec...a 250 Watt antec will run that system as they are running in the DELLs with 250Watts.
What you are looing at a different case from antec. The SLK3700AMD(this is what the review has) is different from the SLK3700BQE.
I have an SLK3700AMB (same power supply) and am running an 875 board with a 2.8 GHz P4. No problems at all.
I agree, most people here grossly overestimate their power supply needs. I had an old Dell with a 200-watt power supply, and I had a 1 GHz P3, 2 optical drives, 2 hard drives, and a GF4 Ti4200 video card in there with no problems. It's really more about power supply quality than wattage, and Antec makes a good power supply.
So what's the difference between the SLK3700BQE and the SLK3700AMD? Seems like a pretty sweet case especially with the sound dampening
Actually being black is not the only difference. The bqe is a newer revision of the 3700amb. The 3700bqe has a different fan grill, the same grill used in the sonata case. This new grill style is a low restriction grill. Also the bqe has its hard drive cage mounted differently then the 3700amb I believe the cage is mounted the same way as the sonata hd cage is mounted. So the changes are internal and external.
The 3700bqe and Sonata support 4 internal drives, the 3700AMB will handle 5 drives.
Both 3700's have a Smartpower ps, vs. the quieter (and hotter) Sonata's Truepower ps
Both 3700's have the intake fan in the front of the case, vs. Sonata's mid case fan setup
3700's are approx 2" taller than the Sonata
No front firewire on 3700's
Sotata does have it's name drilled in the sides, but imo this defeats the purpose of having all intake air pass through the front screen.

Very sturdy (and heavy) case. The paint finish isn't that good tho. Owned one, now it belongs to my lil bro 
I was running an Antec 300w for a p3 1 gig w/ 3 cd drives, 3 hard drives, a sb live drive, floppy, 512mb ram.
It died.
Took me days to figure out it was the psu because the fans would run but the bios would not boot.
Better to get more than less.

Depends on how long you used it. Also one unit died does not mean that all are bad. I also had one new antec PS which had the fans spinning and then the computer wont boot. Thats a typical PS fault symptom-very common.
