Lowest price I've ever seen, and by far the lowest without a rebate offer.

http://www.directron.com/vx2025wm.html

It's from directron.com and while I've never ordered from them myself, they have good ratings on resellerratings and pricegrabber.

Defective pixels policy: Directron will replace LCD monitors that have five ( 5 ) or more defective pixels. ---> Better than Newegg at least.

I've purchsed from them before, don't think I even looked for a tracking number. But everything showed up within the time they said it would and it all worked.

Edit: Would this be good for FPS games?

Yes. In fact, I believe that is perhaps its strongest point from what I've seen in reviews and from users.

I've bought a couple tuners from directron. Very fast shipping considering they are in Texas and I am in California. No tax is a huge plus for this deal. I am tempted. Now I need to come up with a strategy for my girlfriend to ok this.

If you'd said wife I might understand but...

Anyway, can anyone tell me how this would compare as far as vertical dimensions to a 21" crt. Before I pull the triger on a couple of these I'm wondering how much screen I'll be losing.

If you use 1600x1200 resolution typically, then you'll lose some vertical. Some people really complain about this (although, I can't remember a single person who actually owned such a monitor complaining about missing it), and others don't care and are just happy with the monitor in general.

As far as the size of the screen goes, you'll probably actually be gaining about an inch of viewable area with this over a 21" crt, although, the screen is shorter and wider (some people complain about this as well, since height wise, its about the same as a 17" 5:4 LCD). Something you should take note of is that these are not height adjustable with the included stand. This should put the tops of them about as high up as the top of a 21" CRT.

This is a great deal, considering there are no rebates to mess with (and perhaps never get). I wish I had the spare money right now. I was curious as to what the shipping prices were. For anyone who's considering this, the UPS Ground price to me in Missouri was $10.85 for a grand total of $300.84 shipped. Not bad!

I have ordered from them a few times for power supplies and a case once. Prices were decent and everything arrived as expected. Ship times were as quoted and packaging was adequate. I don't recall any negative experiences with them. Pretty much a normal transaction.

I recently bought this monitor with my new gaming rig. I love it, and that price is smoking hot.

I would also like to say that I have had good experiences with Directron. They are a most reputable company IMO.

Ordered early this morning, got an email saying that they are out of stock and will possibly get more in on 6-28-06 and they will ship mine then... I called and asked why my credit card was already charged and they told me its to reserve my spot, they said alot of people were just told straight up its not available, he told me I was one of the few who didnt get one that will get one at this price... Dunno if he was trying to keep me from canceling and just saying that but I didn't cancel the order, the price is amazing so I can wait a week...

The guy told me they received a few hundred orders the morning the deal started, he said they filled most of them and I was on the bubble of the people who will get one next wednesday 6/28 and mine will be shipped then, I think the demand was just overwhelming for such a great price, hell my shipping to VA was only $15 bucks... Great deal...

I know the deal is dead but as an update, out of my two orders, one has been pushed out to 7/6 shipping and I haven't heard anything from the first order yet. Oh.. did I mention that I was charged on my CC for both back in 6/22 without anything to show for it? :(
