i still am not sure i can handle the power it needs
450 watt and 20 am on the 12, 40 on the 5 v

any opinions ?

i have the BFG GT OC and this one really is beter but just 4 fps maybe
Is it even worth the hassle to resell my 'old' one on ebay for maybe 250 to 300 to get a little better performance but a card that will eat more power

i want to say leave it be and when i buy a new PC all of this will be old hardware, like in 6 months, lol

wait, it's already obsolete but I am not buying a new MB any time soon, nor CPU or RAM. THis was custom built and I think I am done on this one until it can't runthe next gen of games

so, I just need to know if it is worth the hassle and to me selling this card on ebay is a hassle
a friend said, just buy it and sell it and make a hundred bucks...and he is probably correct
He got 77 of them!!!!
LOL

yes he can't get the rebate but if he sells for 450 he makes a good profit

WARNING:

I got my card and the static bag had obviously been opened and its a returned card. It had a torn yellow sticker and then another yellow one on top of it. The bag had a couple wrinkles in it. I called them and they said they dont ship out used equipment. I also called BFG and they said there should only be one sticker and it was obviously opened.

Buyer Beware. Outpost said they'd send me a new one and credit my card back when they got the other one.

Lame.

For all of you asking about power supplies, I was unable to run my 6800 ultra on an antec 430. I hadd to upgrade the PSU to stop the crashing.

nvidia states that a 350w psu is enough to run it, but BFG specs recommend 480 or w/e it was.

For those wondering about the anti-static bag being opened, don't worry:
I haven't opened mine yet. No urge yet.

As for the anti-static bag appearing to be open, don't worry. That was done at BFG. Workers at BFG in IL opens all Ultras that come in and take the heatsink off and replace the stock thermal paste with Arctic Silver. That's why it appears open. They don't do this with any other cards. Just the Ultras.

The reason they use white retail cardboard plain boxes is that when the Ultras were first released, they didn't have official boxes for it. But they wanted to get the card to the people who preordered so they shipped it in these plain white boxes. Well BFG got positive response from people about the boxes as people didn't care about the box design, just the card. So that white box stuck.

Just a note. Yes my static bag appeared to be opened. NFS has posted the info about it being normal and not to worry.

I actually did go ahead and open mine (They have a 30 day return policy and it would have been opened anyway by me or whoever returns there) and the card is awesome. I've been burning it in with 3d mark 05 and it's rock solid. VERY happy with the card so far.

video cards don't need to be burned in... maybe tested for stability, but not burned in.

Yeah, id just keep it since you have a lifetime warranty , ...how does it OC?... if it OCs to 1200 on the ram then consider yourself lucky because many only do 1140.
