The online Ritz Camera is different than the brick and mortar company. It's the B&M stores that declared chapter 11 bankruptcy.

just a heads up, i know it seems trivial, but this does not have an analog tuner.

Their website has a really good guide of how many channels to expect based on zip code iirc.

i got this when it first came out and it was a massive PITA to set up, so hopefully they have made it easier since then.

It's pretty trivial these days.

had mine for about a year and gave up trying to cofigure it

its gui/interface via the use of vlc is horrible, along w/ the manual channel edit.....
tried it out again w/ the mytheatre program, still too clunky

also is the email activation to initialize the device still required?

I wasn't aware that e-mail activation was ever required. If that were the case, I doubt I would have given them my business.

That said, no, activation is not required to use it. I plugged mine in, configured it with MythTV and off I went. 🙂

If you're looking to offload yours, let us know. 😛
