EDIT: this is a super hot deal for anyone in the market for one.

They also have 52", 46", and 65" models for 45-50% off

Thanks for the information and 42" would be the PERFECT size for our bedroom.

I see the $1,000 price with free shipping however when I add it to my cart I get this error?

wow, very nice price. I wish I could convince myself I need this TV, but I don't :(

looks like this price is about $500 cheaper than anywhere else, not even factoring in free shipping

Ok, looks like the deal code (particular a participating employee/company) is dead as too many people used it. There is a whole 8 pages worth of thread about it on fatwallet.

You will need another valid promotional code from an existing SEC employee, or other participating company.

Ah, too bad its not for everyone :p This was too good to be true.

Also, the coupon code was not suppose to be posted on any forums or websites, so the person (whose friend posted) could have gotten into trouble. lol. But the there was only one code posted, which has been redeemed at least 25 times (i think thats the limit) after which it is invalid.

I just tried and you can add it to your cart but it will not allow you to checkout without a code.

Guys, try opening the link using Firefox instead of IE. I see the same problem people observed in a bigger thread on Sharp D64U series Friends and Family discount on Fatwallet.com.

It does NOT matter what browser you use, won't make a difference. You will need a code to make the purchase. Without that, you can add to the cart, but never checkout.

Let this thread die.

Chrissy1 posted this in the FW thread, I'm going to give it a try tomorrow:

Deal not dead. I work for a large corp (approx. 70K employees) & we have access to a site to get discount tickets etc. I called HR to find ut if we might have a discount with Sharp. They didnt know, so I called sharp directly at 877 674 2832. They said that my company does have a discount arrangement with Sharp, & that I had to call HR to get the link. I explained to the rep that I already did that, & HR didnt know. Not one to be easily deterred, I asked her if she could send me the link via my company email. She said sh couldnt, but could take the order over the phone, but I will have to confirm the order by going to my email & clicking on the "verify your order" link. I wasnt sure if it went through, but within minutes after I hunf up, I logged on to my company via VPN, got the email, confirmed the order. Now I'll just have to wait & see what happens. I did not use a code - the Sharp rep put thhe order through using my company link which only she had access to. By the way, on the order confirmation page, it showed both my company logo & th Sharp logo.

It might be useful to call & find out if your company has a discount relationship with Sharp. Or call Beneplace.com (- I called them first, after seeing them from the IBM link)& they said my company was "not on the list".

Wish me luck!

FYI, this deal is valid through ge and ibm employee discounts. if you know someone who works there, they can get you this deal. I wish I knew someone, it asks you for the ibm or ge email, and it sends a confirmation email to that one where they have to click "yes" to the order. (so if any ibm employee is feeling generous and would click the email for me, I would be much appreciative :)

This is dead unless you know an employee of IBM, GE or a few other companies.

Also this deal has been extended to Friday 9/21.
