Normally these are around $80 to $100.

(place in cart for reduced price)

Nice closed cans.

Some complaints about them:
-some people think they are too tight on your head (it kind of clamps on heh) but this reduces after wearing them a little while
-not the best bass... this is improved over time as they break in

Other than that, they're pretty solid.

Reseller ratings on ecost have plummeted as of late... I haven't really looked into the reasons, but I got my 280s from ecost a year and a half ago and I was quite happy with everything.

Nice set of headphones, especially after they've broken in. ;)

Bought them over a year ago. They got better & better over time.

Good find jello. Ill just put in a word that I agree about the tightness that the 280s have until broken in, but I will also say that I have had good luck with ecost, even though I only ordered from them once.

Just a note about their refurb stuff. I orderd some refurb 595s for an excellent price. They came in a plastic senn. bag and packaged kind of poorly. They came with dent in the side of them which I believe came from shipping. However, the good news is that senn. agreed to fix them at no charge! So thats where they are right now.

I also have the hd 280's and I must say that after some burn in hours, they are excellent headphones at even their normal price. This is a awesome deal.

Looks like a good deal. I think I'm about due for some to replace my 10 year old Sony's. I just got a new IPod and sometimes I hear some distortion and I'm guessing its the headphones.

Are these good for games, etc on the PC, too?

These are *killer* cans - I'm about a year into mine and love 'em. I paid a little over $90 for mine, so this is a great deal imo.

I"ve got an order with ecost right now for a reciever hope I don't have any problems. I bought my 280 Pro from ecost about 1.5 years ago when they had a similar deal with no problems. They sure are a great pair of cans though.

The price actually went down to 49.99. Handling topped me off at $61 shipped.

I say get the HD480 "open ear" design. You can hear people talking, and they dont touch your ears at all. all you need then would be a good mic.
