A good price on these, but ... not quite sure if they're actually new, or factory refurbs, GoHardDrive deals in both, and they generally don't make it clear in their listings which one it is.

They do claim 5-year warranty, so perhaps they are new.

Only 1TB in size, and I think that the SSD-like portion is only like 8GB. They are 7200RPM though.

I used a 2TB version for a number of years, it performed alright.

They're basically 7200RPM HDDs, with a boot-time optimization that helps Windows boot faster, with the SSD portion. Not really anything more than that. Don't get your expectations too high, the amount of SSD-like capacity is too low to matter for anything else.

Limit 3 per customer.

That said, if these were available in years past at this price, they would have been a no-brainer for "budget gaming" builds, where you would have traditionally put in a 128GB SSD for OS, and a 1TB 7200RPM (WD or Toshiba) HDD for Steam game storage. These would have saved money, while still providing 90% of the performance for boot-up purposes of an SSD.

Under the 'warranties and returns' it says 1yr--so which is it?

Seems these drives are hitting the market refurbed or used in droves. Wonder if it's user returns or actual bad ones?
