Mine works pretty well that I got from BestBuy. Much faster than using the cameras USB connector. Also, Im not really sure how to get it to be bootable.

There's also a 120GB 7200RPM 8MB plain box hard drive for $19.99AR (3 x $40) in-store today. I picked one up a little while ago today.

Would I actually see a difference in the upload/download speed over a 1.1 usb reader using the same card?

Just wondering. If there isn't any difference it isn't even worth 5 bucks to me. I have card readers built into my printers and I have pleanty of CF cards laying around. I don't plan on buying any faster CF cards in the future. At least until I find another hot deal on a camera that I can't pass up. ;)

SemperFi,
It depends on what card that you have.
Some cards are faster and some are slower.
My normal speed cf transfer I think 30 - 50 % faster with USB2.0
If it's fine for you now then just skip this deal.
No big deal, just sing one more song while you wait.

SemperFi - USB 2 will make a big difference depending on the speed of the card.

heavyrain80 - yeah tax sucks...$3.30 for me...almost doubles the price of the unit...but it's still worth 8 bucks.

I'm assuming it is this one:

Hard Disk hard drive

Though I see no rebates available online. Any help out there? I'd think of buying this for backup purposes - which is kind of counter-intuitive if it isn't dependable.

Yeah, I know what you mean. The closer something gets to free after rebate, the larger the issue of sales tax becomes.

Grabbed two from the San Diego Clairemont Mesa store around 10am. Still 3 left, for the late comers. Both rebates printed out like charm. THANK YOU.
